Do you like reading? I didn’t always, but when I was 10 I learned how awesome it is to pick up a good book and let my imagination put me right in the middle of what was happening. Can you relate? I especially love reading when it is cold outside. Curled up under a blanket with some hot chocolate or tea is great! Here are my top ten favorite books. Hopefully you will enjoy them too. Note: This list is in no particular order. :p
- Bruchko – Bruce Olson
- If you like adventure and stories about the middle of the jungle, this is the book for you. Bruchko is a story about a missionary (a person with a special mission) to the jungles of Colombia and Venezuela. You will be on the edge of your seat and inspired by this book.
- Kisses from Katie – Katie Davis
- Kisses from Katie is a great book about the mission work of a young lady and how she teaches kids in Uganda not only how to read, but also how to love Jesus. This is a heartwarming book and one that will pull at your heart strings.
- Dare to Stand Alone – Bradley Booth
- This is another book that you will thoroughly enjoy if you like exciting, suspenseful stories. This book shows the wonderful works that God has done when things seem to be going terrible.
- How to Win Friends and Influence People – Dale Carnegie
- Stepping out of the story books for a bit, this book is a great self help book. It has practical skill that you can use to gain the respect and trust of the people around you and how to win them over.
- Emotional Intelligence 2.0 – Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves
- This is another self help book that talks about self-awareness, relationship management, social-awareness and more. With practical applications, this book helps you in your personal and professional life.
- The Desire of Ages – Ellen White
- If you haven’t read it yet, this book is a wonderful story about Jesus and His ministry on Earth. This is a really amazing book. It is one of my favorite book and for sure something you should read.
- The Hiding Place – Corrie ten Boom
- You’ll be transported to the Nazi invasion of the Netherlands and see the works of God in the life of someone hiding Jews. In this true life story, you will read about the experience of a young woman and how she survived a Nazi concentration camp for doing what she thought was right.
- 7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Stephen Covey
- Have you ever thought, “I wish I could be more effective in the things I do”? Well, this book practically helps you do just that. It explains the things you can do so that you can be more effective at work and in your personal life.
- Christmas in My Heart (Series) – Joe Wheeler
- Christmas is my favorite holiday! If you love Christmas too, then this book is just the thing you need. And yes, you can read Christmas stories all year. This book is great for kids and… kids at heart. Sit around a fire or under a blanket and read these with your family!
- A Thousand Shall Fall – Susi Hasel Mundy
- This is another amazing story of an Adventist man, fighting on the front lines of the German Army during World War 2. Read how he warned the Jews that were in danger and how he kept every Sabbath while he was in the army.
